How to do Words With Things
Part of Typeset, a Reader, within which I designed 16 pages.
The pages are a redesign of the text "How to do words with things" by Bruno Latour where he is writing about the concept of the Berliner Key.
The text is played out in a visual story in which the layout changes over the pages. In this way, the concept of the Berliner Key and the social contruct behind it is translated into the design. Text is rotating over the pages and images of black slowly make place for daylight. Therefore the reader is forced to rotate the book. This makes the reader actively part of the text and, in order to read, forces them to follow the way the text is constructed.
